We are proud and excited to announce that Left Turn At Albuquerque commences work on our first album as a band on Sunday, June 20th, as we start recording basic tracks for 12 songs! The album is being produced under the auspices of Michael Teach's Chicago Acoustic Underground, and will be produced and engineered by Ellis Clark of legendary Chicago bands Epicycle and The Handcuffs. We will keep you all up to date with album happenings from the summer through autumn. NEW MUSIC IS FINALLY COMING!!!!!!!
Left Turn At Albuquerque will be celebrating with its founder, Jeff Churchwell, as he turns mumblety-mumble-nine years old, with a special show at Red Line Tap on Saturday, July 17th. The show starts at 8:00 P.M. with a set of Jeff and lots of friends "sittin' in" on favorite covers and Jeff's originals, continues with Jane Thatcher at 9:00, then Left Turn... at 10:00 and Common Shiner at 11:00. It promises to be a great evening, and Jeff and the band are looking forward to seeing you there. For full information, please visit the "It's Showtime!" page.
To keep a journal of the recording process of LTAA's first album, we've begun our first-ever blog! Find it and follow our adventures on the "We're Bloggin'" page.
Jeff Churchwell was joined by two great Chicago musicians, Micki Croisant and Jack Brett, for a first-time-ever performance of Crosby Stills and Nash's "Helplessly Hoping," captured on video at the Red Line Tap on Thursday, April 8th. Check this out.
